Do you really want to deactivate facebook account? ok let me tell you that deactivating facebook account is just like having a break and detaching you self from any social media. everyone has their own reasons of deactivating their account. but unlike deleting, deactivating is just temporary and reactivating is as easy as 1 2 3… So instead of deleting their facebook account for good, they rather deactivate their account for a while, and just reactivate again whenever they feel like. let me know in the comment section what makes you deactivate your facebook account?
When deactivating your account, iPhone or IOS devices has a different procedures compared to Android devices. So to avoid confusion, i made a separate video here for Android devices
What will happen If you deactivate facebook account?
- You still have the capability to reactivate your account whenever you want.
- No one can see your timeline and no one can search your facebook account.
- Your messages from facebook messenger are still visible to those people that you chatted, but they cannot message you back.
- You cannot use your Facebook account to access Meta Quest Products or your Meta Quest information.
- You can reactivate your facebook account any time you want.
To Deactivate Facebook Account
Step – 1. Open your facebook app
first thing you have to do is open your facebook app
Step – 2. Menu
Click the menu located on the lower right side of your screen
Step – 3. Click the gear icon
Click the gear icon located on the upper right side of your screen
Step – 4. See more in Accounts Center
Click the link See more in Account Center
Step – 5. Personal Details
now under the account settings click personal details
Step – 6. Account ownership and control
now click account ownership and control
Step – 7. Deactivation or deletion
There are two options here, make sure to click the Deactivation or deletion.
Step – 8. Click your Facebook account that you want to deactivate
Click your facebook account, the one that has a facebook logo
Step – 9. Deactivate account
Click deactivate account and click continue.
Step – 10. Enter Password
Now enter your password and click continue.
you’re facebook account is now deactivate!
And that is how you can easily deactivate facebook account on your iPhone or IOS device.

Note:
If you are running a page that only you control will also be deactivated, and to avoid deactivating your page. Make sure to transfer the full control of your page to someone else’s facebook account and transfer it back to you when you decided to reactivate again your facebook account.
What are the difference of deactivating your facebook account from deleting your facebook account?
- When you delete your facebook account, your account would not be deleted automatically, instead you are given a 30 days period to decide if you really wanted to delete or recover your account. But after 30 day of not logging in back, your facebook account would be deleted forever.
- but when you only just deactivate facebook account, you can reactivate your account anytime you want. deactivating is just like having a brake from your facebook account and just login back if you wanted to.
- When you delete your facebook account, all of your photos, videos, and all of your footprints would be deleted too. So make sure that you back up your photos and videos if you wanted to recover it first before totally deleting your facebook account.
- but if you only deactivate facebook account, all of your photos, videos and everything would be recovered just like nothing happened.
So it’s up to you to decide whether you wanted to delete your facebook account? or just have a break and deactivate your facebook account for a while.
Now after deactivating your facebook account for a few days, months, or year you finally decided to reactivate again your account. To reactivate your account, you just have to simply login to facebook directly from their website. And you’ll be reactivated automatically after logging in your facebook account.
